Shanghai: India's Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa defeated Iris Wang and Rena Wang of USA 21-9, 21-12 to move into the women's doubles quarterfinals of the China Open here on Thursday.
They will next play Japanse Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa, seeded third.
Gutta and V.Diju exited from the mixed doubles, losing to third seeds Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen of Scotland 14-21, 14-21 in the second round.
