New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday said that he was "very happy" that all the accused in the Guwahati molestation incident had been arrested.
"We have dealt with the case very firmly," he added.
Key accused in the case, Amar Jyoti Kalita, was arrested on Monday evening in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
Kalita had reportedly surrendered at the Varanasi police station after reportedly having a word with the Assam Police that told him he could not continue to run.
Kalita has been on the run ever since TV channels and newspapers began airing the video of the incident.
He was caught on CCTV cameras in three states - Odisha, Maharashtra and West Bengal. Finally, in Uttar Pradesh, he surrendered.
All this while, he had been in regular touch with his lawyers and police officials, even relatives to help find shelter.
It was during one such phone call that the Assam Police told him that he could not continue to run.
