Click to play videoNew Delhi: The body of a second-year student who was found hanging in room number 143 at the Hansraj college hostel in the Delhi University has sent shock waves among the students.
Twenty-two-year-old Mukesh Bhangel was a blind student doing Hindi (Hons).
When talking to his friends, his classmate Ashish said, "Dinner karne ke liye uske dost ne phone kiya toh woh phone attend nahin kiya. Uske room pe gaya toh room khula tha. Jo watchman hai Bakshiji woh gaye unko lekar toh dekhe woh hang huye fansi lagakar latka hua tha (He did not attend his friend’s call for dinner. When the watchman went to his room, he was found hanging).”
The body was found hanging from the ceiling fan but the hands were tied, leading his friends to suspect murder.
Classmate Digant Pathak said, "Aisi usne aaj tak koi baat nahin batayi. Parson hi usse baat huyi hai mobile pe. Woh khud se aisa kaam nahin karega. Usko koi agal bagal hostel mein hi hai,. Jisne ye kiya hai (I spoke to him a few days ago, he would have never taken such a step on his own. There could be some hands behind this).”
Police have registered a case of homicide.
DCP, North District, Sagarpreet Hooda said, "Iski body mili hai, ceiling fan ke saath latki huyi hai aur ismein iske haath bandhe huye hain. Hum case register kar rahe hain. Homicidal hanging lag rahi hai humein. Case register kar rahe hain aur investigate karenge. (We have registered a case of homicidal hanging and we have started the investigation).”
The police is now waiting for the post mortem report for further clues.
