Mumbai: The day of reckoning is here for newcomers Harman Baweja and Imraan Khan and before their films hit the theaters on July 4, CNN-IBN figures out their popularity quotient.
It's a clash of the debutants this Friday as Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and Lovestory 2050 battle it out at the box office and the contenders are already feeling the heat.
On one hand there's Aamir Khan's nephew Imraan Khan, whose 24-years-old. His strengths are of course his acting genes thanks to uncle Aamir Khan and his forthcoming assignment include Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap and Soham Shah's Luck.
And giving Imraan competition is filmmaker Harry Baweja's son Harman Baweja, who at 27 is a complete Bollywood package and is reportedly seeing Priyanka Chopra. So far his dancing seems to be his main strength, but he's got big time filmmakers like Ashutosh Gowarikar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali interested already.
"I hope both the films work. I have seen the promos and they looks great,” says Harman.
However, the fact is that Imraan's Jaane Tu made with a modest budget of Rs 10 crore could stand a better chance of recovering its costs and posting a profit as against Harman's Love Story 2050 which has reportedly cost over Rs 50 crore.
Meanwhile, though Imraan and Harman may have their fingers crossed, July 4 will decide what lies in store for the two debutants.
