London: Actor Rupert Grint, who plays one of the lead characters in Harry Potter series, has contracted swine flu and is now recovering from "mild bout" of the virus, his publicist has said.

Grint, who portrays the character of Ron Weasley and is currently shooting for the latest of the series Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, took a few days off filming but has now returned to the set, BBC report said.

"He has now recovered and is looking forward to joining his fellow cast members," his publicist was quoted as saying.

Grint's doctor has confirmed that he has recovered and was no longer contagious or at risk of infecting others, she said, adding that the shooting was not disrupted as other scenes which did not require his involvement were shot in his absence.

The 20-year-old actor is well enough to attend the world premiere of arry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in London on Tuesday, the report said. The film is set to be released on July 15 in Europe and two days later in Japan and the US.

Grint has starred in all the Harry Potter movies as well as British comedy film Thunderpants and comedy drama Driving Lessons with Julie Walters.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is based on J K Rowling's final book about the teenage wizard and his friends.
