New Delhi: Fake stamp case kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi wants to plead guilty before the Special MCOCA Court in Pune.
Telgi who had so far refused to surrender changed his mind soon after 43 accused in the case pleaded guilty to the charges before special judge Chitra Bhedi.
He personally submitted before the court that he was willing to plead guilty and sought time until on Thursday, to which the court agreed.
On Wednesday, the court let off former Mumbai Police Commissioner R S Sharma and two other police officials in the case because of lack of evidence against them.
Sharma had been accused of protecting Telgi.
Meanwhile, CBI Jt Director R Mishra told reporters the fact that 43 accused have pleaded guilty to the charges indicated the merit in the agency's investigation into the infamous multi-crore case.
He refused to comment anything regarding the release of Sharma saying, "we cannot say anything at this juncture without going through the order of the court."
