New Delhi: The two policemen accused of rape in Panchkula in Haryana were arrested on Wednesday night.
The arrest comes barely two days after the alleged victim, 28-year old Sarita, committed suicide outside the office of the Haryana DGP in Panchkula.
Sarita was expressing her frustration that no action had been taken against the accused. The constables in question, Balraj Singh and Silak Ram had been absconding since then.
Police sources say, the duo have been arrested on charges of 'rape by public servants on duty'.
The duo had allegedly raped Sarita in Rohtak on April 10. It was 50 days before even an FIR was registered.
