Haryana Police setting firearm safeguards

New Delhi: Weeks after the shocking incident of an 8th standard boy shooting his classmate at Euro International School, the Haryana police has come up with a strategy to check such incidents.

The DGP of Haryana has asked schools to check with parents of students about firearms they possess.

In fact, they have been told to fill forms with details of any arms in their possession. They have to specify the name, type and make of the weapon, its caliber, license number and any details considered relevant to the record.

The police feel the tragedy would not have happened at Euro International School had parents handled firearms more carefully.
