Chandigarh: Haryana will have one more hockey astroturf ground which will be laid at a cost of Rs. 5.66 crore at Hisar. A spokesman of district administration said that the Union sports ministry has said that the work to lay astroturf hockey ground would start shortly after its approval.
He said that about 10 acres of vacant land of boys' hostel at the government college in Hisar had been transferred to the district sports council to lay the astroturf.
Astroturfs have been laid in hockey grounds at Gurgaon, Kurukshetra, Sonepat, Sirsa, Rohtak and the process of laying astroturf in Bhiwani is in full swing.
The spokesman said that in order to provide better sports facilities to youth, Haryana government is constructing sports stadiums and improving the existing infrastructure in the state.
