Chennai: Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader and former union health minister Anbumani Ramadoss was arrested by Kancheepuram Police on Friday. A case of an alleged hate speech was filed against him in 2012.
Ramadoss was arrested for offences including unlawful assembly, rioting and disobeying order promulgated by a public servant, said police. He will be produced before a local court in Thirukazhukundram in Kancheepuram district, they said.
His arrest comes a week after his father and PMK chief S Ramadoss was arrested by the police on Tuesday for defying prohibitory orders and attempting to hold a protest. A court later sent him to 15-day judicial custody.
