Padmashri Mohanlal tells our correspondent Vikram Venkateswaran, why he thinks A R Rahman is a genius and about his past and future projects with the maestro.

Padmashri Mohanlal: Yes, what can I say about him? He's a genius. Not everyone can be called a genius. You need to have the capability for it. Rahman is definitely a genius. He is pride of our country.
Vikram Venkateswaran: The first time you worked with him was in '92 in the movie Yodha, which was also Rahman's first and only Malayalam movie...
Padmashri Mohanlal: Yes, Yodha is a very good movie and the songs are still being played all the major channels even today.
Vikram Venkateswaran: You will also be working with him again in Nairsan?
Padmashri Mohanlal: Nairsan is a Japanese film about a Malayali freedom fighter. It has Japanese and Mongolian songs. We have asked Rahman to do music, he has agreed. Let it happen.
