THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The city has received heavy rainfall on Monday. The India Meteorological Department has recorded 6 cm rainfall in the city, while the Thiruvananthapuram airport recorded 3 cm rainfall. According to IMD, thundershowers will continue in the coming days too. An upper air cyclonic circulation developed over south Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas is the reason for widespread rainfall. IMD release states that a few spell of thundershowers are expected in the city. Maximum temperature will be around 31 degrees Celsius. On Monday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius and minimum 25 degrees Celsius.
Since the onset of summer on March 1, the city had received 178 mm rainfall.
