New Delhi: Delhi witnessed heavy rainfall and a hailstorm on Thursday night. The city, which received light showers during the day, started getting rains at around 11.00 pm. Some parts of Delhi also witnessed hailstorms, bringing the temperature down by a few notches.
The weather is expected to be generally cloudy with fog in the wee hours.
Meanwhile, snowfall in the Kashmir valley blocked the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Thursday. Authorities issued an avalanche warning in the area.
Sources said that various areas in the valley were suffering from a 12 to 13 hour power cut.
Several districts of Shimla also saw heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
