New Delhi: You can't wear the latest Nike shoe launched in Japan, but you may be able to have as much fun transforming it into a toy robot.
That's what Takara Tommy, the Japanese toy maker and creator of the robot are hoping. This is the first time the company has attempted to pair robots with something as ordinary as a shoe.
“We thought if we can make a toy that which can transform into something the adults are interested in, they would take interest in our products as well,” said Chief of Marketing Group, Takara Tommy, Masahiko Yamazaki.
Their idea seems to have paid off, considering the products were almost sold out in Japan, as soon as they were launched.
The shoe robots which cost 2625 yen, which is $ 22 US, were made chiefly to promote the soon to release the robot action film Transformers: Autobots and Transformers.
With the movie due out this summer in Japan and the US, these shoes are truly going all the way.
