Hillary under pressure to quit Prez race

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: US Presidential hopeful, Senator Hillary Clinton is under pressure to quit from the race for the White House.

Senior Democrat leaders, who are supporting Barack Obama, have asked her to consider her options after Tuesday's make or break primaries.

The pressure on the former first lady has intensified as new polls suggest she is deadlocked with Obama in both states.

She is far from the massive wins that she needs to overhaul his lead among Democratic delegates.

This advice from the seniors comes even as her husband Bill Clinton is said to have adviced her on the same.

Hillary and Obama are running neck-and-neck in Ohio and Texas one day before their crucial Democratic presidential showdowns, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Houston Chronicle poll released on Monday.

Hillary, fighting to save her presidential bid after 11 straight wins by Obama, desperately needs victories in the big-state battles to keep her candidacy alive and face the Republican candidate in the November election.

Obama has a slim advantage on Hillary in both Ohio and Texas, although the leads are within the poll's margin of error of just under 4 percentage points.

Obama leads 47 per cent to 44 per cent in Texas, as Clinton gained 1 point overnight in the polling conducted by Zogby International. He leads 47 percent to 45 percent in Ohio, a turnaround from Clinton's one-point advantage on Sunday.
