Hindus celebrate Navratra amidst tension in Kabul

A festive day today- Ugadi in the south, Gudi padwa in Maharashtra, Navreh in Kashmir, and the Sindhi new year as well. For the Hindu and Sikh community in Kabul life isnt easy - even so they've found ways of celebrating the Navratra too.

The Hindu community in Afghanistan numbers less than 50, most of them concentrated in Kabul.

The Sikh community is larger at around 2,000 with most of them in Kabul and at the busy city market they do a centuries old trade in traditional ayurvedic medicines.
