Hisar: Khap panchayat lets off man accused of molestation after rendering apology

Hisar: A Khap panchayat played court again in Haryana's Hisar district where a trader, accused of molesting a girl, was freed after an apology while the policemen watched. The local trader was 'punished' following allegations of sexual harassment.

This after a girl complained to her family about the alleged harassment she had been facing. The Khap panchayat convened a meeting near the local police station and punished the accused, as the police watched the drama unfold.

Satrol Khap leader Sundar Singh said, "The girl had complained to her family that the boy tried to misbehave. So the boy touched her grandfather's feet in front of everyone and apologised. He said that he would never repeat it."
