Chandigarh: The ruling Congress in Haryana on Monday got a shot in the arm when four of the six MLAs of the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC), broke away from their party and announced their merger with the Congress.
HJC was founded by former chief minister Bhajan Lal and is now headed by his son Kuldeep Bishnoi.
The four MLAs, who effected a split in their party and merged with the Congress, met Haryana Assembly Speaker Harmohinder Singh Chatha in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday evening and gave a written submission in this regard.
