Mangalore: The body of Indian-origin nurse Jacintha Saldanha will be laid to rest in her native town Shirva on Monday evening. Her body was brought to India on Sunday. Jacintha's husband Benedict, her son Junal and daughter Lisha then accompanied the coffin to Mangalore. On Monday morning, the body was brought to Shirva.
Jacintha will be laid to rest this evening at 5 pm, after a funeral service at the family's local church, Arogya Mata Church.
The 46-year-old committed suicide at her apartment near the King Edward hospital in London following a prank call by two Australian radio jockeys. India is planning to take the issue up with Australian authorities.
