Hockey India announces stipend for junior players

New Delhi: Hockey India (HI) has said 32 junior hockey players will get a monthly stipend of Rs.10,000 each. The money will come as support for the talented players to buy their equipment and help reduce the financial burden on their families, HI said in a statement.

HI will make quarterly payments from July-September quarter. Thirteen of the 32 players are members of the Indian team that won bronze in the Junior Men's Asia Cup at Malacca, Malaysia, in May.
