Dhaka: Indian men's hockey team routed an inexperienced Nepal 21-0 in their opening match of the South Asian Games at the Moulana Bhashani Stadium here on Saturday.
Led by Ajitesh, Indians ruled the roost from the beginning and never allowed Nepal any chance of the ball possession.
India drew first blood in the 13 seconds of the match and went on to score 10 goals in the first 35 minutes giving their goalkeeper Chander Singh Thalal a torrid time under the bar.
Down 0-10 in the first-half, it was a Himalayan task for the Nepalese to come back as Indians added 11 more after the break to complete the rout.
Roshan of India was adjudged Man of the Match.
