The ever-so-sexy George Clooney dons the director's hat yet again in the romantic comedy Leatherheads, and along with father Nick Clooney, George walked the red carpet for the special screening of Leatherheads, at their hometown, Maysville on Monday night. The evening also saw film's other star, Renee Zellweger strike a pose or two.
When Nick Clooney was asked what he thought of all the adulation George receives from his women fans, he was quick to reply, "I think they have good taste."
Like father like son, guess wit runs in the family!
Plot: Leatherheads
A sports themed romantic comedy, Leatherheads is set in the 1920's against the backdrop of America's nascent pro- football league and sees George don the director's hat in addition to that of the actor, writer and producer.
George plays Dodge Connolly, a brash aging football hero who's determined to transform his team's sagging performance.
While Zellweger plays Lexie Littleton, a feisty news reporter all out to sniff out the dirt from the new champ's war past.
The film releases in US theatres on April 4.
Yet another comedy in store for 2008 is Tropic Thunder which sees Ben Stiller returning to the director's chair after his 2001 box-office hit Zoolander.
Plot: Tropic Thunder
The film follows a group of celebrity actors including Stiller — filming a big budget war movie in Vietnam, but rising production costs makes the studio bosses cancel the film.
Frustrated, the films writer and director leave the cameras rolling to capture all the action that follows after the cast heads out to an actual war zone.
Here the bullets are real and the men holding the guns are not on hire, forcing these funny men to become the soldiers that they were portraying.
Also starring Robert Downey Jr, Jack Black, Steve Coogan and Nick Nolte, Tropic Thunder includes cameos by Tom Cruise, Matthew McConaughey and Tobey Maguire.
This Stiller comedy of errors hits American screens on August 15.
After Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby in 2006, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly team up for yet another comedy Step Brothers.
Plot Step Brothers
In the movie, the duo play two middle-aged unemployed men who still live with their parents, and go on to become unlikely step brothers when their single parents decide to marry.
Adding to the situation is their uncanny arrogance and sheer laziness. As things fall apart, the two brothers finally decide to get their act together, for family and brotherhood.
A journey sprinkled generously with laughter & emotions, the movie is set to release on July 25 in the US.
