New Delhi: Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde is likely to get a reprieve from the Delhi Police on his remarks on "Hindu terror". In its status report at a Delhi court, the Delhi Police has said that no cognisable offence could be made out against Shinde.

Police added Shinde's speech was not a deliberate and motivated speech. The next date of hearing is February 11.

There have been calls for Shinde's resignation after his statement in which he linked the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with Hindu terror. The Union Minister also accused the RSS and the BJP of running terror camps, during a speech made at Congress' Chintan Shivir at Jaipur.
