Bulandshahr: Conflicting reports have emerged in the murder of a 28-year-old man Abdul Hakim, who was gunned down in Bulandshahr, earlier this week. The victim's wife Mehwish has alleged that the murder was orchestrated by her family who had opposed her marriage to Hakim. "They would not let us live in peace, now they have taken their revenge as well," Mehwish said.

However, police clam that the victim was killed because of a feud in his own family. "The girl's family had come to accept the marriage. Nothing indicates that this murder is linked to the couple's marriage," police said.

The couple, who married against the wishes of their parents, had featured on an episode of Aamir Khan's television show 'Satyamev Jayate'. The couple, who were married in 2010, had been living in Delhi at a shelter that provides security to such couples. However, they had recently returned to their native place Bulandshahr.

Aamir Khan, who is promoting his new movie in Jaipur, expressing grief on the incident said, "Disturbing and unfortunate incident. Will speak to the government authorities in UP to help and ensure the family is safe. The culprits must be brought to the book. The case is registered on the basis of right facts."
