Honour killing in UP: Woman alleges husband gunned down by her family

Bulandshahr: Conflicting reports have emerged in the murder of a 28-year-old man Abdul Hakim, who was gunned down in Bulandshahr, earlier this week. The victim's wife Mehwish has alleged that the murder was orchestrated by her family who had opposed her marriage to Hakim. "They would not let us live in peace, now they have taken their revenge as well," Mehwish said.

However, police clam that the victim was killed because of a feud in his own family. "The girl's family had come to accept the marriage. Nothing indicates that this murder is linked to the couple's marriage," police said.
