New Delhi: It’s been 12 years for Abhishek Bachchan in the film industry. Some of the actors who started their career with Abhishek Bachchan have reached to a point where the producers want them to do specific kind of roles, but same can’t be said for Abhishek.
The actor is returning to the silver screen with Rohit Shetty’s ‘Bol Bachchan’ where he will be seen along with Shetty’s favourite Ajay Devgn. Though Shetty started his career with Abhishek Bachchan in ‘Zameen’ but his successful phase started with ‘Golmaal’ that had Ajay Devgn in the lead. Initially he was not taken seriously but after the success of the ‘Golmaal’ series and mega success of ‘Singham’, he has become one of the sought after directors of the Hindi film industry. Ajay Devgn is an integral part of his success so he might be focusing more on Devgn’s role than Abhishek’s character in ‘Bol Bachchan’.
Further, Abhishek Bachchan has not given any solo hit in years. Out of his last 13 films, where he was among lead actors, only one film ‘Dostana’ did well at the box office. His ambitious projects such as ‘Players’ and ‘Dum Maro Dum’ bombed at the ticket window. Even critics didn’t notice his work in these films.

Rohit Shetty had started his career with Abhishek in \'Zameen\'. The film wasn\'t successful at the box office.
It’s true that he has done films like ‘Guru’ and ‘Yuva’ in the past but that phase has been long gone. He needs to justify the faith of the producers who are still banking on him.
On the other hand, his co-star Ajay Devgn is getting better with age. He has proved his mettle in all types of films. ‘Singham’ demonstrated his hold on typical entertainers. Abhishek Bachchan will have to excel against an actor who is also a star. Initial promos have not generated much enthusiasm towards Abhishek’s work in the film, in fact Ajay Devgn remained the centre of attraction in the trailers.
It’s not like that Abhishek Bachchan won’t get any film if ‘Bol Bachchan’ flops but the failure of his acting skills in the film will prompt his critics to attack him which may make his life difficult in the longer run.
So, Abhishek will be hoping for a successful ‘Bol Bachchan’ if he wants to stay in the game.
