New Delhi: Criminal lawyer Ram Jethmalani may have chosen to keep mum after the Delhi High Court convicted his client Manu Sharma in the Jessica Lall murder case, but the firebrand lawyer made some explosive argument inside the court.
Following were Jethmalani’s arguments to counter Delhi Police appeal that the trial court verdict acquitting Manu in the murder case was correct.
Manu was not present in the party and was falsely implicated by police.
Prosecution's case against Manu is a minus zero as there was no evidence.
Ramani and her family had supported the prosecution as there was a threat from police that they will be booked under the Excise Act for running the illegal bar.
Whole family was harrassed until it supported the police against Manu.
It was not Manu but a tall gentleman with red turban believed to have fired the shot at the victim.
She was killed not for denial of liqor but because she had challenged killer's manhood, therefore the motive was not liqour but something else.
Ballistic experts report about the two gun theory was supported by the statement of witness Munshi and the trial court was justified in not giving credence that the shot was fired by Manu.
Prosecution had fabricated the evidence.
Police also planted some witnesses like Deepak Bhojwani as he was close to Jessica's family.
Black Tata Safari car was planted to prove the case against Manu. The car was picked up from his farm house a day after the incident.
