New Delhi: Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday said that he looked forward to the further development of strategic cooperation between his country and India.
"I look forward to strengthening friendship, increasing mutual trust and expanding cooperation during my visit," he said in a brief statement after being accorded a ceremonial welcome in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Besides Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President APJ. Abdul Kalam, Home Minister Shivraj Patil and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee were also present on the occasion.
Hu arrived Monday evening on a four-day visit to India.
