Huge response to CMs Mass Contact Programme

KOCHI: The district administration is all set for ‘Janasambarka Paripadi’ or the Mass Contact Programme of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, on November 19.
As many as 7,000 applications have been received so far in this connection, District Collector Sheik Pareeth said. It is expected that around 12,000 people would participate in the programme, he told reporters here.  Most applications are with regard to the revenue department, Pareeth said.  Other applications are with regard to panchayat, water authority, police, civil supplies, PWD and corporation.  The district administration has also earmarked about `1 crore for disbursment to eligible persons, he said. As part of the programme, transportation facility have been arranged. Private bus operators have been given permission to run services late into the night.
