Mumbai: One of the most sought after new entrants in tinsel town, Huma Qureshi has bagged a role in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Dedh Ishqiya'. She says when she watched 'Ishqiya', she never even dreamt that she will be part of the movie's sequel one day.
An excited Huma confirmed her presence in the cast saying, "Yes, but there will be an (official) announcement. I am glad because it will be a fantastic film."
"It is an Abhishek Chaubey film as well. I was so thrilled. I remember watching 'Ishqiya', it was amazing. I didn't even dream of the fact that I will get an opportunity to be part for the sequel. It is really amazing," she told IANS.
If the grapevine is to be believed, Huma has replaced Kangna Ranaut, who was supposed to be part of the film.
Asked when she will start shooting for 'Dedh Ishqiya', Huma said: "There is so much of speculation going on right now; so I don't want to say anything."
Huma first hogged the limelight when she featured as Mohsina in Anurag Kashyap's 'Gangs Of Wasseypur'. She has some bold scenes with co-star Emraan Hashmi in the forthcoming Bhardwaj-Ekta Kapoor co-production 'Ek Thi Daayan'.
Huma admits that "there is a sense of pride, but not arrogance because there is a lot to do and a lot to learn".
"I think working with Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj would be on the list of every actor. I feel blessed that as a newcomer, I am working with both of them. It is really special," the 26-year-old said.
"Vishal is really one of a kind in the country right now and Ekta has completely taken over the whole place. To be a woman and to be able to pull that off, hats off to her. She is a fantastic producer."
It is overwhelming for Huma that such filmmakers want to work with her.
"I don't have the mental capacity to do any more work. It's a good time. I am reading good scripts, people are pushing very interesting concepts and ideas. It is really overwhelming that such cool filmmakers want to work with me. Like I said, these are on the wish list of every actor. I only pray that I am able to do justice to whatever work that comes my way."
A 2010 release, 'Ishqiya' featured Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi. The entire cast had wowed movie buffs with their peformance. Vidya's bold and rustic avatar, especially, had won her several accolades. The film did well at the box office too.
