Hyd techies train for self-defence

Hyderabad: With Intelligence reports suggesting that the Indian IT sector figures high in the hit list of terror outfits, companies have decided to train their employees, in combating possible terror attacks.

“With terror attacks increasing everyday, this training will help us save many lives,” says Director (Projects), Machine & Machine, Karthik.

And IT professionals feel the training is the need of the hour and gives them a sense of security.

“This training will help us feel more confident. We can't depend upon the police for everything,” says an IT professional, Shashikanth.

The decision to train IT professionals in combating terror attacks was taken following intelligence reports that IT companies are prime targets for terror groups.

Self-defence experts like Nischal were roped in to train employees from major IT companies like, Wipro, Satyam and Oracle.

“These are simple tactics based on body reflexes. It will help these IT professionals defend themselves,” says Defense Expert, Nishchal.

The training focuses not just on self-defense, but also in saving lives of others in times of need. The employees have been training for three hours everyday for over a week.
