Hyderabad: 10-year-old killed in road accident

Hyderabad: Police are on a hunt to catch the driver of a car, allegedly a minor, who mowed down three boys, killing one on the spot, at Shamshabad on Thursday evening. Though the car was traced to a locked house in Buchi Reddy Colony in Shamshabad, the driver of the vehicle is absconding. Akash (10) was killed in the accident while two others, Ankush and Babu, suffered severe injuries.

According to RGIA police, the boys were walking along with their cycle near Shamshabad when an Alto car coming from behind hit them. The trio were on their way to a nearby Sai Baba temple when the mishap took place. Ankush suffered serious head injuries while Babu lost his leg. Ankush is in hospital in a critical condition, police said. Akash was a student of Satyam Grammar School at Shamshabad, and his father Jithender works in a private factory at Aaramgarh.

A case under Sections 304-A (rash and negligent driving causing death) and 337 (causing injuries) was registered and investigation is on.
