Hyderabad blasts: IB, NIA, NSG officials to reach explosion sites soon, says RK Singh

New Delhi: Soon after two blasts took place at Dilsukh Nagar in Hyderabad on Thursday evening, Union Home Secretary RK Singh said officials of national investigation teams including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guard (NSG) will leave for Hyderabad in a special BSF plane from Delhi in the night.

Singh confirmed that two blasts took place in Hyderabad and said the government was in constant touch with the DGP, the Chief Secretary and the Governor of Andhra Pradesh.

The NIA earlier said that at least three blasts have taken place in the Andhra Pradesh capital. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy also reached the blast sites to take an account of the situation.

Dilsukh Nagar, the area were the incident took place, is a crowded area in Hyderabad and the biggest fruit market in Andhra Pradesh.

The previous major attack in Hyderabad took place on August 25, 2007 when two blasts took place almost simultaneously. The first blast was reported at a park and it was followed by another in a eating joint in Hyderabad.
