New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders are all but out of the Indian Premier League. However, team owner Shah Rukh Khan has urged them to keep their chin up.
He has also clarified that there are no differences between him and skipper Sourav Ganguly.
In an emotional SMS to his team SRK said:
"Right now, all of us have become part of a failed script, a bad IPL script. Let's try and keep our chin up. Do ignore all this bit about Dada, me and John having issues. The beauty of failure is that it brings people together.
So, let's stick this out together. I am too much of a sport myself to get beaten by defeats. I am not the kind of owner who has issues with the team because of losses.
I am still trying to understand the code of conduct expected of me at the matches by the ICC. After I understand it, I will decide whether to accept it or no. I will be with you guys at the hotel, in the meetings etc, but won't come for the matches.
I am as dedicated to my Knights as I am to my kids. So, head's up. Have a good match and let's make 200 runs tomorrow."
A string of defeats had on Wednesday, led to speculation that all was not well in the Kolkata Knight Riders camp. It was being said that Sourav Ganguly and Shah Rukh Khan had had several disagreements over a host of issues — over the matches lost and all power to coach John Buchanan.
It was also being said that Shah Rukh Khan was miffed as he had to pay entertainment tax at Eden Gardens. He had asked Ganguly to talk to West Bengal Chief Minister, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya and get the tax wavered, but the skipper had allegedly refused to do so.
