New Delhi: Her life is rocking she says, but to get Sushmita to sing, you've got to pay upfront. Meet the former Miss universe-turned-rockstar as she talks about her latest release Zindagi Rocks.
Neha Sachar: Your film Zindagi Rocks is about to release. Is your zindagi (life) rocking these days?
Sushmita Sen: It has always been rocking. And inshah allah (with the grace of god) it would be so for the rest of my life. It’s good because things are going, as they should, not necessarily the way I want them though.
Neha Sachar: We know that there is a little ‘wana be’ rock star in you. So what was the kind of preparation that you did for playing a rock star on-screen?
Sushmita Sen: I still am like that little 15-year-old Sushmita whose dream has come true finally playing a rock star on-screen. Even the lip-syncing made me feel like I am a real rock star. The film has tremendous energy. It is about what love stands for in life really.
Neha Sachar: Is it hard being a diva? Do divas too have those rare ‘bad-hair’ or ‘bad-skin’ days?
Sushmita Sen: I have started becoming very confused about the particular word 'diva'. Everybody seems to have his own unique definition of a diva. I think, 'diva' is the projection of a personality.
It is the way people perceive you. I hardly think I am one though. You can come and check me out at seven in the morning. I promise, diva would be the last term you will use for me.
Neha Sachar: Thank you so much for talking to us.
Sushmita Sen: Thank you too.
