I am not married to filmmaker Aditya Chopra, says Rani Mukerji

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji, who has rubbished rumours that she is married to filmmaker Aditya Chopra, says she has left her marriage destiny to god. "My name has been linked with several people, but 'upar waala' (god) will decide who will become my life partner," Rani said in reply to queries in Rajat Sharma's show 'Aap Ki Adalat', aired on India TV.

Mukerji, whose latest film 'Aiyyaa' released Friday, reacted strongly to media reports about her secret marriage to Aditya, elder son of acclaimed filmmaker Yash Chopra.

"The media can't even decide which year the wedding took place. Was it 2007, or 2009, or 2012? Let them (media) make up their mind first."

Directed by Sachin Kundalkar, 'Aiyyaa' is produced by Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18. The film will hit the screens on October 12, 2012.
Rani Mukerji will be seen romancing south Indian actor Prithviraj in the film. 'Aiyyaa' is his first Hindi film.
Rani Mukerji says her character in the film is far more naughty than her previous avatar in 2005 hit 'Bunty Aur Babli'.
"Meenakshi is a mad and whacko character which is many steps ahead in madness when compared to Babli," said Rani Mukerji in an interview lately.
Rani Mukerji has done three peppy item numbers in the film. Two of them are already out, any guesses what she has in store of us now.
Its not only the songs, Rani Mukerji's dialogue in the film are also grabbing eyeballs.
After Vidya Balan's 'The Dirty Picture', Bollywood's fascination with south Indian film industry has immensely increased.
Rani Mukerji's charcter in the film looks very close to 'Silk' of 'The Dirty Picture'. However, beating Silk is not that easy.
Rani Mukerji says 'Aiyyaa' is a light hearted comedy with a sweet love story. She says, "Aiyyaa came at just the right time and since I like comedies, everything just fitted in."
Rani Mukerji dominates all the promos released so far. It seems, Prithviraj doesn't have much to do in the film.
In the movie, Rani Mukerji falls in love with a Tamil actor and the film revolves around the Mratahi-Tamil cultural clash.
Rani Mukerji has managed to grab eyeballs with the promos. Let's wait and watch whether 'Aiyyaa' turns out to be funny or sleazy.
Rani, who has done some really mature roles like 'Veer Zara' and 'Black' in past, do you think the audiences will accept her in such a role?
Director Sachin Kundalkar is a Maharashtrian and he wanted to bring his native flavour through 'Aiyyaa' to Bollywood, which he feels has an overdose of Punjabi culture.
The film, starring Rani Mukerji, is loosely based on one of the stories of Kundalkar's acclaimed Marathi film 'Gandha', which means fragrance.

"I am fortunate that the people of this country consider me as their daughter and they are worried about my marriage. But birth, death and marriage are in the hands of 'upar waala' and what is ordained, shall happen," said the actress, who sported a rudraksha string on her left wrist.

"As far as my marriage with Aditya is concerned, I can only say, 'Main toh abhi kunwaari hoon' (I am still unmarried)," she added.
