Can't be Kamal Hasan from Day 1: Shruti Hasan

Mumbai: Tamil star Kamal Hasan's daughter Shruti will be making her big Bollywood debut this year in Luck co-starring Imran Khan. CNN-IBN's Manisha Mahaldar spoke to this new kid on the block about working with the youngest Khan and lots more.

Manisha Mahaldar: Your Bollywood debut is Luck. Did your father give you any tips before shooting?

Shruti Hasan: No not really. He's never been one to advise me too much. I think the one tip he gave me was that it's your life and you have to make the decisions which count for you the most.

Manisha Mahaldar: Imran Khan is your co-star in the film, so how's he to work with?

Shruti Hasan: Well, we've known each other for a while so it's a blessing to work with somebody you are comfortable with and can relate to. I think it's been a wonderful experience overall.

Manisha Mahaldar: Who's style of acting do you think you have inherited?

Shruti Hasan: Nobody expects to be either a Kamal Hasan or a Sarika from your very first day and I didn't expect that of myself either.

Manisha Mahaldar: You are not only an actor but also a singer and you have recently formed a band. What are the developments on that front?

Shruti Hasan: We are playing a whole bunch of gigs, we are having a whole load of fun, we have our strengths and we are just taking it from there. And we are going to get into the studio soon and record our first album.
