New Delhi: Power means responsibility, said ICICI CEO and MD Chanda Kochhar after Forbes business magazine ranked her among the world's 100 most powerful women.
"Definitely, I feel very good about the fact. It reminds me that there is a huge responsibility that I am carrying on my shoulders," said Kochhar, who was ranked number 20 in the Forbes list. She was second only to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
"So, in a way that each one of these things make me feel more grounded to say that there is a huge responsibility on your shoulder and please perform it with all responsibility and proactiveness," Kochhar said.
Kochhar was named the first woman CEO of the country's second largest lender ICICI Bank and took charge in May this year.
"She now oversees a bank with assets of USD 100 billion," Forbes said about Kochhar. She was instrumental in transforming the retail business of ICICI Bank and turning it into a retail-banking powerhouse.
