New Delhi: Actor Suniel Shetty has been categorised as one of the 'been there done that' bracket of actors. He is a successful hotelier and runs a production house called Popcorn Entertainment.
He is currently in the Capital to launch a reality show, Biggest Loser Jeetega. So when he thinks of the word 'loser', who are the three people that come to mind?
Suniel Shetty: I never see people as losers. I only see people as achievers.
CNN-IBN Unlike the leading ladies in Bollywood who seem to have cat fights all the time, the leading men seem to share a great camaraderie. What is the secret behind all that great bonding? You should know since you share a great bond with actor Sanjay Dutt. So what is it with the men of Bollywood.
Suniel Shetty: We hero-worship! (smiles) I hero-worship Sanjay Dutt. He's a great friend of mine but I absolutely adore him. As a matter of fact, there are so many times when so many producers come to me with film offers and I ask them, 'Did Sanjay Dutt ask you to get in touch with me' and they say yes. So you know, when you are going through a lean period, you have friends like him who will always support you and be there for you.
CNN-IBN There was a time when the big screen was flooded with Suniel Shetty. Now of course, you are picking and choosing your films. Is that because you are trying to get behind the scenes with your production house, Popcorn Entertainment?
Suniel Shetty: Popcorn is a company which is taking care of itself. As an actor, I have taken the conscious decision to pick and choose simply because I was not happy with the kind of work I was doing. I wanted to do other stuff and that is why I took a sabbatical for a year.
CNN-IBN You are one of the very few actors in Bollywood who has a squeaky clean image. How do you manage to keep it that way?
Suniel Shetty: It's always a conscious decision to make sure that I lead a clean and clear life as an actor, so that people can look up to me.
