CNN-IBN's Manisha Mahaldar chats up with the actress who tells us what it takes to do comedies and wear bikinis in the movies.
Manisha Mahaldar: I have with me Lara Dutta just back from IIFA and ready to set the hearts of many men racing with her bikini look in Blue. So Lara aren't you very anxious for Blue to release especially because you have completely reinvented yourself in this highly glam avatar?
Lara Dutta: Well Blue is a very special film to me. I have learnt a lot while filming it and I did not know how to swim when I signed this film leave aside thinking how will I look in a swimsuit?
Manisha Mahaldar: Did you push your body too much to sport a bikini look or were you already in good shape to take it up?
Lara Dutta: You know to shoot under water you have to not only be physically fit but also be a certified diver. I have really put in a lot in this film.
Manisha Mahaldar: Do Knot Disturb, Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai and earlier also you have done a lot of comedies. So would you call comedy as your favourite genre?
Lara Dutta: Well! I love doing comedies because I think I am really good at it. I am kind of goofy myself... people say wow kya acting kar rahi hai (What is this acting)... no that is the way I am.
Manisha Mahaldar: Now Lara your personal life has always been a subject for gossip? So why don't you like talking about your personal life and clear the air?
Lara Dutta: Well I hate when media calls me up and ask me my status. so I tell them there are only two status in this country one is single and other is married. So till I am not married I am single and right now my entire concentration is on my work and only work.
