New Delhi: Bloodstains in the room and grieving families are something Baljeet Nager in West Delhi is getting used to.

Another murder took place, which is attributed to the ‘hammerman’ whose victim this time is 22-year-old Susheela Gupta, whose face was smashed by bricks.

“He was sitting there. She was lying injured and her face was bleeding,” says Susheela’s mother, Dhanauta.

The shocker however, is that on Monday, the police claimed to have laid to rest rumours surrounding the hammer man, after arresting an 80-year-old woman who had killed her granddaughter in a similar manner.

"The hammerman is a rumour. It was the woman who was trying to act smart,” DCP West, Delhi Police, Robin Hebu had said.

But now after the latest case that took place on Thursday has foxed the police yet again.

“This is a different case as there is no similarity,” says Hebu.

But the modus operandi remains the same. All the victims are women, and the murderer targets the head with a blunt object. Some say he even sexually assaults his victims before killing them.

The police are still probing that aspect. And the locals want a reason for the continuing attacks.

The police claim to have detained some suspects, but it remains to be seen if this time they will actually get their target.
