Narain Karthikeyan is back home after his historic victory at the A1 Grand Prix in China and he is savouring every moment of it. He spoke to CNN-IBN's Digvijay Singh Deo about the incredible win and also about his Formula One plans.
Digvijay Singh Deo: The accolades are pouring in for the man who is called the fastest Indian on the wheels. Narain Karthikeyan congratulations. As they say it is an incredible high.
Narain Karthikeyan: Yeah, it has been going well. Last weekend it was a good job. Not only my driving but the team also did a great job. It was the first win for Team A1 India, taking it to the top step of the podium has given me a lot of satisfaction and to end 2007 on a big high. The momentum can carry on in 2008.
Digvijay Singh Deo: We can see the trophy behind you very prominently displayed. That makes it very special. This was not only for Narain Karthikeyan but also for Team India.
Narain Karthikeyan: Yeah, that's really special and first win is always that much more special. I think we have a good set up now and some more wins are on the cards now.
Digvijay Singh Deo: Let's move away from A1. I read that you have said that you still have unfinished business in Formula One.
Narain Karthikeyan: Well! Formula One is the pinnacle of Formula One and I would like another crack at it and see how I can be successful in that too.
Digvijay Singh Deo: A new team Force India is coming up. Are you a bit disappointed that you have not been even offered a test drive?
Narain Karthikeyan: No, I am not upset. It is Vijay Mallya's team. He puts in the money so he has a plan. So why should you be upset about that? It is not the end of the world. That's for sure.
