Mumbai: Bollywood's leading man, Shah Rukh Khan, would never cheat on his wife or turn his back on his family for another woman, unlike his recent role as an unfaithful husband in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.
An extramarital affair was out of the question, SRK told a leading national daily.
''I won't say I am boring, but I am pretty traditional,'' he said. ''I'm a very conventional guy. I'm square and I think it's quite hip to be square.''
SRK played a husband who strays away from his wife and son in one of his recent releases, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, which explored troubled marriages and extra marital affairs. The role was a departure for SRK who usually plays the reliable son or the devoted family man.
Released in August, the movie was directed by Karan Johar and also starred Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek, and top actresses Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta.
Shah Rukh said that his wife, Gauri, did not like his role as an unfaithful husband.
''She didn't like it. I think no woman would like it,'' said SRK, who has been married for 14 years and has two children. ''When she saw the film she thought it was quite bold. She didn't like the character.''
