The indefinite hunger strike by the India Against Corruption (IAC), Hyderabad chapter, at the Darna Chowk finished day six. Of the seven activists who have been fasting since July 25, three of them, including Chegonti Chandrasekhar, Ram Kumar Tiwari and G Nagabhushanam developed health problems and rushed to hospital immediately.
While on the seventh day, a few more activists, including S Chandrasekhar, spokesperson of IAC Hyderabad, will join the relay hunger strike along with Naqvi, Nageshwar Rao, Venkateshwar Rao and Ramesh Suther.
Five city schools are organising a rally to support IAC and Anna hazare today. As part of which a Palabhishekham (ceremonial milk bathing) of the Baba Saheeb Ambedkar statue at the Tankbund will be held, after which the rally will proceed to the Darna Chowk.
“Surprisingly, even till today, not even a single official or minister or a politician have visited the site to equire about the health of the hunger strikers or to request to withdraw the fast. Government is in sleeping mode even now,” says S Chandrashekar, an RTI activist and a member of IAC.
