New Delhi: Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel did not flee from Chattisgarh forests abandoning security personnel who had come under attack from Naxals, Air Chief Marshal NAK Browne has told the Union Home Ministry.

Browne has cautioned against creating divisions between security agencies in the war against Naxals. Browne was referring to the rescue operation in Chhattisgarh where a policeman was allegedly left behind by the Air Force personnel after an IAF chopper crash landed. "Reports say weapons were left behind - that's not true. Impression given was that they walked away and abandoned the mission. That's all nonsense," said Browne.

Browne also hit out against the leak of a letter written by Union Home Secretary RK Singh to the Defence Secretary.
