New Delhi: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Friday advised general entertainment channel Sony TV to not telecast a dramatic reconstruction of the Delhi gangrape case in its popular cime show 'Crime Patrol - Dastak'.
The ministry stepped in to stop broadcast of any dramatic reconstruction of the case that led to nation-wide protests against rising number of crimes against women. The ministry has also issued a similar advisory for all television channels.
The ministry also asked the channel to be sensitive to ground realities.
The January 11 episode of the serial was to show reconstruction of the brutal gangrape of 23-year-old paramedical student in Delhi on December 16.
