IBLA: Modi says wealth distribution a must

Mumbai: The much awaited Annual India Business Leader Awards took place on Thursday in Mumbai. Taking a break from worrying about the economic crisis, the who’s who of corporate India got together to discuss strategies to face the crisis head on.

CNBC TV18's annual business awards ceremony got off with an explosive start. Narendra Modi, one of the key note speakers, emphasized the importance of wealth distribution along with wealth creation, while commerce minister Kamalnath, who also won the award for outstanding contribution to the cause of Indian business, reiterated his faith in India inc.

“If we have a social vision, a proper roadmap for wealth distribution along with wealth creation, the dream of the 21st century belonging to India will be realized,” says Narendra Modi.

"I have confidence and we all have confidence in our business leaders," says Commerce Minister, Kamal Nath.

Among the other winners were Mukesh Ambani who won the award for Reliance industries as the outstanding company of the year. Deepak Parekh took home the coveted outstanding business leader of the year award, while deputy managing director of NSE, Chitra Ramakrishnan bagged the business woman of the year award.

Aamir khan bagged the award for the entertainment business leader of the year and Uday Kotak won CNBC Asia's business leader award.
