Rajeev Masand: What’s your opinion on the direction that Hindi film music seems to be going in today?
Ehsaan: I think that it is nice because it is very very contemporary. There is a lot of good stuff and bad stuff happening. There is also a lot of copying happening, which is not very good.
Rajeev Masand: Who are the contemporaries that you admire?
Ehsaan: A R Rahman as he is really fantastic. Vishal Shekhar of course as they are doing some really nice stuff.
Rajeev Masand: You guys have worked with the some of the biggest filmmakers in the business. Is there still is a filmmaker who you also have yearned to work with? Is that a dream?
Ehsaan: Mani Ratnam for sure. We would sure to be able to do some good stuff together. That is a distant dream I think.
Rajeev Masand: Isn’t it important to really enjoy what you do. The single thing that makes your match, perhaps so good and the whole process of creating music enjoyable.
Ehsaan: We have a lot of fun. We make funny versions of our own songs.
