Aurangabad (Bihar): An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded while it was being defused near a school building in Naxal-hit Aurangabad district of Bihar on Thursday. One police constable was injured in the explosion.
Three landmines were also discovered near the approach road. The area was sanitised and bomb defused by the bomb disposal squad.
Bihar Director General of Police Neelmani said that explosives were found in the Jordi school building under Madanpur police station of Aurangabad.
Aurangabad will go for elections in the last phase on November 20.
Meanwhile, an estimated 34 per cent voters cast their votes till 1 PM in the third phase of the Bihar Assembly elections involving 48 constituencies spread over East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan and Vaishali districts.
