Pune: The NDA is dealing with issues over who will be the Prime Minister if it wins the 2014 General elections. Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi has added a new twist to the debate over who will be the NDA's Prime Ministerial candidate.
Joshi claimed that if NCP chief Sharad Pawar decides to join the NDA, then he could be a potential candidate. "Sharad Pawar is a charismatic leader who can unify people and build a strong organisation. So, we feel that if he joins the NDA, he can be a Prime Ministerial candidate," Joshi said.
This comes at a time when the BJP is divided over pitching Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. A big NDA force, JD(U) strongman and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have expressed opposition against Modi being the PM candidate.
