IIFA honours Bollywood stars in Macau

Macau: The IIFA extravaganze came to an end on Saturday night in Macau and Jodhaa Akbar topped the list of winners.

It was a starry night in Macau as the Bollywood stars made their way on the green carpet for the India International Film Academy Awards, popularly knows as IIFA Awards.

The evening belonged to Jodhaa Akbar which swept the awards night in the popular categories.

Hrithik Roshan got the best actor award, Ashutosh Gowariker the best director and the film Jodhaa Akbar was adjuged the best film of the year. But the best the actress was bagged by Priyanka Chopra for Fashion.

In the music categories also, Jodhaa Akbar had a clean sweep with A R Rahman bagging the award for both its music and background score.

Lyricist Javed Akhtar bagged the award for best lyrics and singer Javed Ali was given the award for the best male playback singer.

Shreya Ghosal got the award for best female singer for her song Teri Ore in .

To celebrate IIFA's 10th year, a special award was announced to honour the best of the decade.

Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai were adjudged the stars of the decade. Lagaan was given the movie of the decade award, Rakesh Roshan the director of the decade and A R Rahman was adjudged the music director of the decade.

But with many big names from Bollywood missing, the action at the IIFA weekend the glamour quotient this year just wasn’t as expected.
